Agatha Christie: The Poirot & Marple Crime Anthology Collection

READ DVDFILE'S REVIEW

Cross over the shadowy doorstep and into the sinister world of crime writing’s Grand Dame Agatha Christie in this unprecedented 17-disc collection of classic mysteries. Lock the door, sit down, and have a cup of tea as two of Christie’s most popular mystery-solvers Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot get to the bottom of 21 spine-tingling murder cases.

Tony © Award-nominee David Suchet stars as the beloved Belgian sleuth, Hercule Poirot, braving some of Christie’s most notable and unpredictable plot twists in some of her most memorable tales. Lavish settings, a shining supporting cast, and rich period details bring 12 Poirot classics to life. He is joined by Miss Jane Marple, a consummate lady and an unflappable crime-stopper with intuition sharper than her knitting needles. Portrayed by Christie’s personal choice for the role, veteran stage actress Joan Hickson, Miss Marple artfully unravels 9 unthinkable crimes with skill and a touch of class.

A&E Home Entertainment presents 21 classic Christie capers together in THE AGATHA CHRISTIE CRIME ANTHOLOGY featuring 35 hours of suspense, misdirection, and the cleverest sleuth solutions imaginable.

ANCIENT ALIENS

Is it possible that intelligent life forms visited Earth thousands of years ago, bringing with them technology that drastically affected the course of history and man’s own development?

Presented in the 1968 bestselling book Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Daniken, the theory of “ancient aliens” rocked people’s beliefs in mankind’s progress. Ancient cave drawings of strange creatures, remains of landing strips in Peru, and Indian texts that describe the “flying machines of the gods” were just a few of the odd archaeological artifacts cited by von Daniken as proof that ancient astronauts were well known to our ancestors.

Produced with the exclusive cooperation of von Daniken himself, Ancient Aliens launches all-new expeditions to seek out and evaluate this evidence, with a concentration on the latest discoveries of the last 30 years, including unusual DNA findings on man’s evolution and newly decoded artifacts from Egypt to Syria to South America. It is a balanced investigation into a theory some believe cannot be true, but many agree cannot be ignored.

RIPPED OFF: MADOFF AND THE SCAMMING OF AMERICA

The 2008 collapse of the American economy wreaked havoc on the American people. While the stock market imploded before them, some investors were devastated by a far more trusted source. See the personal chaos brought onto individual investors by Bernie Madoff, a popular and trusted investor from middle-class Queens, New York – and alleged Ponzi schemer – as experts dissect his $65 billion scam, from its humble beginnings to its stunning downfall, in RIPPED OFF: MADOFF AND THE SCAMMING OF AMERICA. With the help of expert commentary and firsthand accounts from Madoff’s victims, HISTORY™ compares and contrasts this most recent fraud with other Ponzi schemes throughout history, while exploring the economic and historical climates in which they appeared.

Then, as the United States attempts to rebound from economic meltdown, comparisons to the Great Depression are unavoidable. Is history repeating itself? CRASH: THE NEXT GREAT DEPRESSION? looks at the current financial crisis in the U.S. and compares and contrasts it with what led up to the Great Depression, the 1929 stock market crash, its immediate aftermath and the efforts that helped the country break free from the Depression. Will today’s crash turn into tomorrow’s depression? And is anyone safe from the economic pitfalls of such a vulnerable time?
