Baby rumor, two more double-dips

Baby

Million Dollar Baby Box Art

There are persistent rumors that Warner Home Video will release Million Dollar Baby in June. Some web vendors have the title scheduled for June 1st. I normally wait for a title to appear on a studio's official website before including it as a Disc News item, but the reports are so pervasive that I thought I'd pass the possibility along. Our story submissions have some lead-time, so perhaps by the time this gets published, the reports will be confirmed or denied. As soon as I have definitive word about the presentation, date, and supplements, I'll let you know.

Two more double-dips

Gone in 60 Seconds Box Art

Is it my imagination or is it beginning to feel like we're being squeezed of every last dollar for standard resolution DVDs before high definition DVDs hit the market beginning at the end of this year.

Buena Vista Home Entertainment has announced two unrated director's cuts for June 7th, each with an SRP of $19.95.

The first is Gone in 60 Seconds, expected to have an anamorphic video and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio presentation. Announced supplements include: Zero To 60, a featurette on the film's origins, story and script development; Wild Rides, a featurette about how the film's car stunts were filmed; The Big Chase, a dissection of the "big chase" scene with behind-the-scenes footage; Stars Of The Movie introduces the principle characters of the film; Action Overload is a montage of the film's most spectacular action scenes; Conversations With Jerry Bruckheimer; Original Theatrical Trailer; and, The Cult Music Video.

Coyote Ugly Box Art

The second release is an Unrated Special Edition of Coyote Ugly. This version will be about seven minutes longer than the theatrical cut, and offer: deleted scenes; an audio commentary by "The Coyotes," producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and director David McNally; behind-the-scenes featurette; Music Video; action overload reel; and, the original theatrical trailer. Once again, the presentation will be in anamorphic video and Dolby Digital 5.1.
