I never drink... wine.
On April 26th, New Line Home Entertainment releases a pair of two-disc sets of Blade Trinity, R-rated and unrated. The unrated version is expected to run about ten minutes longer than theatrical. This is another film that didn't quite reach its audience, having earned a tad under its estimated production costs. I suspect it will find new life on DVD. The unrated release will offer an anamorphic widescreen transfer and two multi-channel audio tacks, one in Dolby Digital 5.1 and the other in DTS 6.1. I expect that enabling EX decoding for the Dolby track will yield pleasing results. Supplements include commentaries, a behind-the-scenes featurette, bloopers, an alternate ending, another featurette in which the director interviews the screenwriter, visual effects demos, and more. The rated version's supplements and audio will be slightly less generous to make room for a full screen transfer. The SRP is expected to be $29.95.
Omygawd, they killed Kenny!

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have brought their unique sensibilities to the overwhelmingly popular and familiar feature film genre known as marionette noir. On May 17th, Paramount Home Entertainment unleashes Team America: World Police, a bizarre satire on our gruesome global grind. No terrorist will remain safe from Parker and Stone's barbed wit. And when marionettes couple, it adds new meaning to the term "woody" - the unrated version should prove to be more outrageous than the theatrical cut. As you might expect, this DVD will offer an anamorphic widescreen presentation and a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track. There may even be a supplement or two. Expect an SRP of $27.95. |
A moving film, a important film...

Hotel Rwanda stars Academy Award nominated Don Cheadle as a courageous man trying to save lives in strife ridden Rwanda through bribery, charm, and ingenuity. This worthy film earned two other Oscar nominations, as well. MGM Home Entertainment will release the film on DVD on April 12th with a selling price of $26.98. In addition to the anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track, expect several supplements, including an audio commentary, and documentaries entitled A Message for Peace: Making Hotel Rwanda and Return to Rwanda. The disc will also offer the film's theatrical trailer. |
