Pocahontas and Kinsey

Another animated Disney heroine

As Buena Vista Home Entertainment works its way through Disney's animation back catalog (we've recently seen great releases of Aladdin and Mulan), it's now time for Pocahontas to receive a celebratory edition for its tenth anniversary. Expect this title on May 3rd with a suggested retail price of $29.99. You'll get a 1.66:1 window-paned anamorphic presentation, and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. The film is reported to be coming in its theatrical cut form as well as an extended cut. Supplements will include a Making of Pocahontas featurette, deleted scenes, a DVD-based game, and more.

Kinsey Box Art

On the 17th of May, a slightly more adult oriented film is coming your way. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will be releasing Kinsey, the critically acclaimed film that failed to find its audience at the box office. A two-disc edition will be priced at $34.98; a single-disc edition will be available for $27.95. The DVD will offer an anamorphic presentation of the 2.35:1 film; the mix will be in Dolby Digital 5.1. The first disc (and the only disc in the single-disc edition) will have a commentary by writer-director Bill Condon. Disc two will contain the bulk of the supplements, including deleted scenes, an alternate ending, a featurette, a Sex Ed feature (our reviewers might benefit from that; they spend entirely too much time in their home theaters), a sex questionnaire, gag reel, and trailer.
