'Roswell'; Kevin Costner's '500 Nations'; 'America's Heart & Soul'>

Kicking off today's news is another new Fox TV on DVD release, Roswell: The Complete Second Season. Like the previous season box set, this one will come with 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track,s plus plenty of otherworldly extras: audio commentary on three episodes, the "A Little Something Extra for the Fans" montage, the "Storyboard to Scene," "Here with Me: Making of Roswell 2," "The Shiri and Majandra Show" and "Art of Composing Roswell" featurettes, and TV spots. Also just announced from Fox is the next in their Studio Classics line, Three Coins in the Fountain. Hitting stores on November 2nd, the flick will get a remastered 2.55:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo mix (the original mono is also included), plus audio commentary by Jeanine Basinger, a MovieTone newsreel, a restoration comparison and trailer gallery. List price will cost you a mere $14.95.

Stands with a Fist - 12:03am

Produced by Dances with Wolves Oscar winner Kevin Costner, the acclaimed documentary 500 Nations will make its DVD debut on September 21st from Warner Home Video. This 1995 eight-part epic tracks the indigenous peoples of North and Central America from pre-Colombian times through the end of the Plains Indians of North America. Presented in 4:3 full screen and Dolby Digital 2.0 surround and spread over four discs, extras include a new introduction by Costner, the "CGI Insight With Director Jack Leustig" featurette, a full-color booklet and a bonus CD-ROM featuring an interactive look at Native American history. Retail will go for $59.95.

Speaking of documentaries, on October 26th Buena Vista Home Entertainment will release America's Heart & Soul. Expected by some to be the antidote to Michael Moore's fiery polemics, this little-seen doc failed to generate Fahrenheit 9/11-like acclaim or box office but will get another shot on DVD. Buena Vista will give the flick the 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and Dolby 2.0 surround treatment, and will also include an audio commentary by the filmmakers and a bonus featurette, plus trailers. Retail will list for $29.95.
