Ooh, Scary! - 11:58pm

Making a return engagement in 2004 is Universal Studios Home Video's highly-acclaimed Classic Monsters Collections, which will be reissued in new special repackaged versions. These multi-flick packs will drop many of the extras found on the previous versions, but will include multiple titles and offer plenty of bang for the buck regardless. First up on April 27th will be the two-disc Frankenstein: The Legacy Collection, featuring the original Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, Son of Frankenstein, Ghost of Frankenstein and House of Frankenstein. Each is presented in their original 4:3 full screen aspect ratios and Dolby mono, and no major extras. Retail will be $26.95.

Pretty in Pink - 11:58pm

Just in from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment is another batch of new releases, all due on March 23rd. Titles in the lineup include the Jackie Chan chop-socky adventure Vampire Effect, plus two Molly Ringwald faves making their DVD debuts, Fresh Horses and For Keeps. All are presented in anamorphic widescreen (except For Keeps, which is full screen only), and include only trailers as extras. Retail is $24.95 a pop. And Godzilla fans can celebrate the big green guy's 50th anniversary with another stomp 'em classic, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. This one is newly remastered in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby 5.1, and includes trailers for plenty of Godzilla flicks. Retail is $24.95.
