Fear

will get the deluxe special edition treatment: 2.35:1 anamorphic
widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, two audio
commentaries with director Victor Salva and cast and a second

and effects artist Brian Penikas, the 60-minute "A Day in
Hell" documentary, six additional featurettes ("Creeper's
Lair," "Lights, Camera, Creeper," "Creeper
Creation," "Digital Effects by The Orphanage,"
"Creeper Composer" and "Ventriloquist Creeper"),
a deleted scenes reel, still gallery and the theatrical trailer.

Decidedly less scary is MGM's January 3rd catalog slate. Making
their DVD debuts are the Jane Fonda and Robert De Niro love story
Stanley & Iris, Love At Large,
Love is All There Is, Sleep with Me
and Just Between Friends. All are presented in
anamorphic widescreen (except Sleep With Me, which is non-anamorphic
only) plus Dolby 2.0 surround tracks. There are no extras, and
retail is $14.95 a pop.
More new MGM January announcements include two TV classics. Hitting
stores on the 13th is Green Acres: Season 1.
This four-disc set includes the first 32 episodes, all presented
in 4:3 full screen and mono. The Best of Mister Ed DVD
Collection: Volume 1 features 21 episodes, also presented
in 4:3 full screen and mono. Each set also includes an episode
guide and information on a website that allows fans to vote for
which favorite MGM TV programs they would like to see on DVD.
Retail is $39.95 each.
Dino-Mite - 12:01am
Decidedly more family-friendly is the December 2nd debut of the
original The Land Before Time in a new special
edition. THis animated favorite is presented in 4:3 full screen
and DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1, and extras include the "How
Do I Find Things?" and "Adventures in The Land Before
Time" vignettes, sing-along songs, "Dino-Stars"
and "Dino Activity: Break the Code" games, a kid-friendly
"I Can Put This In My Computer?" guide, the "Jurassic
Park Institute" activity, and additional ROM extras including
more dinosaur games and activities. Retail is $24.95.
