'Jeepers Creepers 2,' MGM classic TV; 'Land Before Time' SE

Just in time for Christmas, MGM Home Entertainment will release the further adventures of "The Creeper," that winged flesh-eating terror who just can't get enough human body parts. Hitting DVD on December 23rd, Jeepers Creepers 2 will get the deluxe special edition treatment: 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, two audio commentaries with director Victor Salva and cast and a second track with the Creeper himself Breck, storyboard artist Brad Parker and effects artist Brian Penikas, the 60-minute "A Day in Hell" documentary, six additional featurettes ("Creeper's Lair," "Lights, Camera, Creeper," "Creeper Creation," "Digital Effects by The Orphanage," "Creeper Composer" and "Ventriloquist Creeper"), a deleted scenes reel, still gallery and the theatrical trailer. Retail is $26.95.

Decidedly less scary is MGM's January 3rd catalog slate. Making their DVD debuts are the Jane Fonda and Robert De Niro love story Stanley & Iris, Love At Large, Love is All There Is, Sleep with Me and Just Between Friends. All are presented in anamorphic widescreen (except Sleep With Me, which is non-anamorphic only) plus Dolby 2.0 surround tracks. There are no extras, and retail is $14.95 a pop.

More new MGM January announcements include two TV classics. Hitting stores on the 13th is Green Acres: Season 1. This four-disc set includes the first 32 episodes, all presented in 4:3 full screen and mono. The Best of Mister Ed DVD Collection: Volume 1 features 21 episodes, also presented in 4:3 full screen and mono. Each set also includes an episode guide and information on a website that allows fans to vote for which favorite MGM TV programs they would like to see on DVD. Retail is $39.95 each.

Decidedly more family-friendly is the December 2nd debut of the original The Land Before Time in a new special edition. THis animated favorite is presented in 4:3 full screen and DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1, and extras include the "How Do I Find Things?" and "Adventures in The Land Before Time" vignettes, sing-along songs, "Dino-Stars" and "Dino Activity: Break the Code" games, a kid-friendly "I Can Put This In My Computer?" guide, the "Jurassic Park Institute" activity, and additional ROM extras including more dinosaur games and activities. Retail is $24.95.
