'Legally Blonde 2'; new TV on DVD from Warner, HBO, Paramount

Bigger. Bolder. Blonder. Reese Witherspoon returns in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, the $90 million comedy smash that will hit DVD on November 11th. MGM Home Entertainment will be stocking this one full of extra features, including anamorphic widescreen and full screen transfers, audio commentary with the cast (participants TBA), the "Blonde Ambition" featurette, deleted scenes, outtakes, a music video, interactive quiz and still gallery. Retail is $27.50.

Other new MGM November releases include the little-seen spring break comedy Board Heads, which streets on the 25th and features 1.85;1 anamorphic widescreen and full screen transfers, a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track and trailers. Retail is $27.50.

Rounding out MGM's lineup is the acclaimed Asian import Together, which will hit shelves on the 18th and is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and Mandarin Dolby 5.1 surround, plus trailers. Retail is also $27.50.

TV on DVD - 6:45pm

The flood continues...if you haven't had your fill of classic TV new and old on DVD yet, just wait until Christmas rolls around...

First up is Friends: The Complete Fifth Season, which Warner Home Video will release on November 4th. Like all past Friends season sets, this one includes 4:3 full screen transfers and Dolby digital 5.0 surround remixes, audio commentary on 3 episodes, never-before-seen extended episodes, "The One that Goes Behind the Scenes" and "Friends: On Location in London" featurettes, and a "Guther Spills the Beans" promo for the next season box set. Retail is $44.95.

For you mobster fans, October 28th will see the release of The Sopranos: the Complete Fourth Season. This four-disc set includes features all 13 one-hour episodes presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround, plus extras including audio commentaries with David Chase, Robin Green, Mitchell Burgess, Terence Winter, and Michael Imperioli, recaps of the first three seasons, episode synopses, previews and recaps, cast and crew bios and an easter egg. Retail is $99.95.

Next up from Paramount Home Entertainment is The Honeymooners: 39 Classic Episodes, which streets on November 4th. This cornerstone of Americana premiered on October 1, 1955 and ran for only 39 full-length episodes, all of which are amassed here. This mega-box is presented in 4:3 full screen with 2.0 stereo remixes and the original mono tracks, plus extras TBA. Retail is $49.95. Also on tap from Paramount is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Season 6, also due on the 4th. Like all past DS9 sets, this one includes 4:3 full screen transfers, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround remixes, multiple featurettes and stills. Retail is $139.95.

Rounding out Paramount's TV offerings is SpongeBob SquarePants: The Complete First Season. Arriving on October 28th, all episodes are presented in 4:3 full screen and Dolby 2.0 surround with plentiful extras, including featurettes, "SpongeBob SquarePants Secrets," storyboards and more to be announced. Retail is $49.95.
