Guess people still think he's funny after all. After a string
of dramatic roles that failed to light up the box office, Jim
Carrey returned to comedy in a big way this summer with the $200-plus
million blockbuster Bruce Almighty. The first big title
of the fourth quarter to be announced for a DVD release, Universal
Studios Home Video will issue the flick in separate anamorphic
widescreen and full screen versions on November 25th, each with
Dolby Digital 5.1 surround tracks, an audio commentary by director
Tom Shadyac, deleted scenes, 3 featurettes, a blooper reel and
theatrical trailers. Retail is $26.95.

Just in from Warner Home Video is the arrival of Coupling:
The Complete Second Season on October 18th. This two-disc
set features 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers and English
Dolby 2.0 surround tracks, plus audio commentary by the series
creators on two episodes, cast interviews and filmographies. Retail
is $34.95.
British comedy fans can also look forward to The Vicar Of
Dibley: Complete Series One, The Complete Series Two
and The Complete Series Three, separate sets that will
all be released on October 7th. All get newly remastered transfers
in their original 4:3 full screen aspect ratio and 2.0 stereo,
and The Complete Series Two will also feature two bonus TV specials.
Retail is $24.95 a pop.
Other new street dates from Warner include a number of animated
TV favorites. October 7th sees the release of The PowerPuff Girls:
'Twas the Fight Before Christmas and Tom And Jerry:
Paws For A Holiday, followed by Batman: Mystery Of The
Batwoman on October 21st, then Aqua Teen Hunger Force:
Volume 1 and Space Ghost Coast To Coast: Volume 1 on

Rounding out today's news is the return of Confessions of
a Dangerous Mind. After a theatrical re-release to push the
little-seen George Clooney-directed biopic, this look at the larger-than-life
Chuck Barris will now street on September 9th. Presented in 2.40:1
anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround, extras include
an audio commentary with Clooney and director of photography Newton
Thomas Sigel, 11 deleted scenes, 2 featurettes, screen tests,
five of The Gong Show's greatest acts, a still gallery and trailers.
Retail will set you back $29.95.
