Just in from Fox Home Entertainment are the full details for
two of their highly-anticipated new releases this fall, including
the indie smash Bend It Like Beckham. Due on September
30th, specs include a 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer and English 5.1
and French and Spanish 2.0 Dolby surround tracks, audio commentary
with director Gurinder Chadha and co-writer Paul Mayeda Berges,
the "Who Wants to Cook Aloo Gob?" and "The Aunties" featurettes,
10 deleted and extended scenes, outtakes, a music video, trailers
and a recipe gallery. Retail is $27.95.
Debuting a week later on October 7th is the spring box office
misfire Down with Love, starring Renee Zellweger and Ewan
McGregor. Complete with pink keepcase, the flick will be made
available in separate 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and full screen
versions with English 5.1 and French and Spanish 2.0 Dolby surround
tracks, plus extras including an audio commentary with director
Peyton Reed, 5 deleted scenes, seven featurettes, the HBO First
Look special, a blooper reel, screen tests, "Here's to Love" music
video, the "Guess My Game" game and trailers. Retail is also $27.95.

A surprise $100 million grosser this past spring, Daddy Day
Care will make its DVD debut on September 23rd from Columbia
TriStar Home Entertainment. This Eddie Murphy family comedy will
include both anamorphic widescreen and full screen transfers,
an English Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, multiple featurettes
including "Good Morning, Eddie Murphy!", "Meet
the Daddy Day Care Kids," "Quiet on the Set" and
"What Did That Kid Say?", the "Kid Card Match Up,"
"Odd One Out" and "Name the Movie Maker" interactive
set-top games, a blooper reel and an all-new DVD exclusive animated
short "Early Bloomers." Retail is $27.95.
Also just announced from Columbia for an September 23rd release
is the recent theatrical sleeper Big Girls Don't Cry. Presented
in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1, extras include
cast interviews, a featurette, deleted scenes, a still gallery,
filmographies and the theatrical trailer. Retail is $27.95.
Also getting their debut DVD releases are four new catalog favorites:
Gas Food Lodging, the true crime classic In Cold Blood,
Men with Guns and The Bedford Incident. All get
new anamorphic widescreen transfers and Dolby 2.0 surround tracks,
except The Bedford Incident, which is mono only. Trailers are
the only extras, and retail is $24.95 each.

Rounding out today's news, Universal Studios Home Video has announced
yet another new addition to their scary October 7th lineup of
horror faves. Getting the reissue treatment is the much-maligned
Halloween III: Season of the Witch, which has become a
favorite guilty pleasure for many Halloween fans. Newly remastered
in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, the disc includes a mono track
and the trailer. Retail is $14.95. Mask not included.
Last but not least, a spec update on that long-awaited special
edition of Casper, due September 23rd. In addition to the
already-announced documentary on the film and Dolby Digital and
DTS 5.1 surround tracks, additional extras include an audio commentary
with director Brad Siberling, additional interviews, a bonus episode
of the "Casper" animated series, an interactive treasure hunt
game and the "Casper's Haunted House of Halloween Fun"
ROM extras, including games, recipes, costume hints, safety tips
and more. Retail is $19.95.
