After a brief run in theaters earlier this fall, new Line Home
Entertainment will debut the crime caper Knockaround Guys
on February 25th. Getting the special edition treatment, the release
features a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital
EX and DTS 6.1 ES soundtracks, audio commentary, deleted scenes,
two trailers, and the complete screenplay accessible to ROM users.
(This DVD-14 double-sided disc also includes a pan & scan
version on the flipside, which drops the extras and the DTS track.)
Retail is $26.95.
Debuting a week earlier on February 18th is the erotic thriller
The Sleeping Dictionary, starring ex-Dark Angel Jessica Alba.
This bare bones release features anamorphic widescreen and full
screen transfers, Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround tracks, and
no extras. Retail is $26.95.
Attack of the Superbits - 12:00am
On March 4th, Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment will debut
its biggest batch of Superbit reissues yet, with eight titles
in all. High-performance releases that drop all the extras to
maximize video and audio quality, each release includes an anamorphic
widescreen transfer of the film, Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround
tracks, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles, simplified
menus, and no extras. Titles due on the 4th include: From Here
to Eternity, Heavy Metal, Legends of the Fall, Seven Years in
Tibet, Das Boot: The Director's Cut (on two-discs), and the
Jim Henson cult favorites Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal.
Retail is $27.95 each.
Columbia TriStar has also announced more new releases and catalog
favorites for March 4th: The Steven Seagal actioner Half Past
Dead, the indie drama Quitting, library faves Atlantis,
Born Free and its sequel Living Free, and two more
installments in The Best of the Muppet Show series, showcasing
