'Road to Perdition,' 'Possession' arrive for Oscar time; more MGM Oscar fare

Already a leading Oscar contender to snag multiple nominations come this winter, DreamWorks Home Entertainment (through distributor Universal Studios Home Video) will debut the Tom Hanks and Paul Newman drama Road to Perdition on February 25th. Available in anamorphic widescreen and full screen versions, extras include English and French 5.1 Dolby surround and English DTS tracks, deleted scenes with audio commentary by Sam Mendes (no commentary is provided on the feature itself), a making-of featurette, production notes, filmographies and trailers. Retail is $26.95.

On March 11th, Universal will release the recent Neil LaBute romantic drama Possession, starring Gwenyth Paltrow. This bare bones release includes a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, English 5.1 Dolby surround track, English and Spanish subtitles, trailers, and production notes. Retail is $26.95.

All or nothing - 12:00am

Just announced from MGM Home Entertainment are three new indie dramas making their way to DVD this February. The full specs for the acclaimed Igby Goes Down include an anamorphic widescreen transfer and English and French 5.1 surround tracks, an audio commentary with director Burr Steers, the "In Search of Igby" featurette, deleted scenes with optional commentary, a still gallery, and trailers. Street date is February 11th and retail $26.95.

Also hitting shelves on the 11th is the all-star comedy Women Vs. Men, and a week later on the 18th, All or Nothing. Both are bare bones discs featuring anamorphic widescreen transfers, 5.1 Dolby surround tracks, and trailers. Retail is $26.95 a pop.
