The Land Before Time: Journey To Big Water, The Land Before Time: The Great Valley Adventure, and The Land Before Time: The Time Of The Great Giving all feature full frame transfers and 2.0 surround tracks, with no extras aside from some Universal promos and ROM extras including weblinks to a special Land Before Time website with future content to be announced. Retail is $24.95 a pop.

'Pop' goes the world - 12:09am

Just announced over at The Criterion Collection website is The Complete Monterey Pop Festival, a new 3-disc set that will include the complete D.A. Pennebaker documentaries Jimi Plays Monterey and Shake! Otis at Monterey, as well as two hours of rarely-seen outtakes. Among the extras include rare or never-before-seen performances by The Association, Al Kooper, The Byrds, Laura Nyro, Jefferson Airplane and The Mamas & the Papas. Stay tuned for more info on this set via a special website to be launched on 8/27. Check out the Criterion site for more, and stay tuned!

Welcome to Sing-Sing - 12:09am

Coming on 11/12 from Columbia TriStar are the first-ever DVD releases for a couple of largely forgotten B-flicks, the John Candy and Eugene Levy comedy Armed & Dangerous, and the Brad Davis and Sharon Stone actioner Cold Steel. Each is presented in anamorphic widescreen (Dangerous also includes a full frame transfer), English 2.0 surround, and extras that include only bonus trailers. Retail is $24.95 each.

And those anxiously awaiting that Mad About You: The Complete First Season set, you're going to have to wait a little longer...the street date has been bumped back a week to 10/22. Features and retail remain the same.
