Street date alert - 12:09am
Despite having one of the deepest libraries of any studio out
there, Universal continues their trend of releasing almost nothing
of interest with their latest batch of catalog releases, due 10/15.
The bright spot is Universal's first TV box set package, Law
& Order: The Complete First Season. Presented in full
frame and English 2.0 stereo, there are no announced extras, and
retail is $99.95 for this six-disc set. Also announced for a 10/15
release is Jackie Chan Presents: Gen-Y Cops and The
Demon Within (aka The Happiness Cage). Stay tuned for specs...
Hungry for a bite? - 12:09am
Here's a creepy one to round out today's news. After playing
to surprisingly strong notices during a limited theatrical run
this past spring, no one expected much from Dahmer, a serious,
non-exploitative look at the life and times of serial killer Jeffrey
Dahmer. Now you can decide for yourself when First Look releases
the controversial film on 8/27, complete with anamorphic widescreen
transfer, English 2.0 surround track, an audio commentary with
director and screenwriter David Jacobson and actor Jeremy Renner,
a making-of featurette, and trailers. Retail is $24.95.
