There is indeed quite a bit of awesomeness on this DVD...

Fox / 154 Minutes / 2013 / Unrated / Street Date: June 18, 2013

The Kung Fu Panda universe is irresistible to kiddies and the young at heart – once you utter your first “Skidoosh!”, it’s hard to stop – and even if this new Legends of Awesomeness DVD release is standard-grade at best, compared to other new all-ages programming, these episodes stand tall. This single-disc release isn’t anything close to a definitive edition of the Kung Fu Panda TV universe, but the seven episodes included here certainly go a long way.

Po the panda, Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Crane, Viper – the gang’s all here. And while there’s a bit of disappointment in terms of overall dramatic fortitude on these shorties, there is without question enough character value in our beloved Furious Five to keep things crackling. We still have another year or two before another full Kung Fu Panda sequel hits cinemas, but until then, this simple release will keep fans entertained.

The long and the short of it is that if your household is Kung Fu Panda-friendly, this Legends of Awesomeness: Good Croc, Bad Croc DVD edition is going to quickly prove itself worthy of its $15 price tag. These short programs are a far cry from the original film, but if it’s a choice between putting the original movie in the player again or giving these newer episodes a spin, that seems like a no-brainer.
