Video: How Do the Discs Look?
These 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers aren’t perfect, but they don’t hold the show back at all. Color quality isn’t excellently balanced, and detail accuracy wavers slightly from scene to scene (and episode to episode), but black levels are inky and consistent throughout, and compression artifacting is only a minor issue. Nothing to write home about, maybe, but still not too bad for standard-def.

Audio: How Do the Discs Sound?
These Dolby Digital 2.0 Danish tracks are simple and appropriately simply presented. Dialogue is audible, the show’s moody music has a nice feel to it – these aren’t exceptionally provocative tracks (for a show this new, 5.1 presentations might have been nice), but there’s definitely a feeling that Borgen: Season 1 sounds like it’s supposed to.
English subtitles are included.
