Video: How Do the Discs Look?

These 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers are just fine, if not exceptionally impressive. Black levels aren't full-tilt inky, but they stay consistent throughout all three discs, and while color accuracy is appropriate in terms of flesh tones, more saturated hues don't come across with the power they deserve. Artifacting is kept to a relative minimum - it's noticeable here and there but not overly so. These are fine.

Audio: How Do the Discs Sound?

The English language Dolby Digital 2.0 sound mixes here are equally capable. Dialogue - the series' bread and butter - sounds fine, and music, effects and atmospherics are all given appropriate treatment within the confines of this simple stereo soundspace. For a set of 2-channel TV mixes, not bad.

English Closed Captions are included on Sets 1-5, and English SDH subtitles are available on Set 6..
