Video: How Do the Discs Look?

These 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers don't look great. Even for standard-def, Doctor Zhivago doesn't look as sharp as it should. Color accuracy is all over the map, compression artifacts are everywhere, and even black levels aren't as sturdy as one might expect. Definitely disappointing.

Audio: How Do the Discs Sound?

The Dolby Digital 2.0 sound mixes are a bit better than their video counterparts. Dialogue is always audible, and the show's music has a nice, robust feel to it. These are super-simple affairs, but they've been ported onto DVD here appropriately.

English SDH subtitles are included.
