Video: How Does The Disc Look?

These aren't perfect 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen presentations, but they get the job done. Color accuracy is impressively maintained, and finely detailed textures pop with clarity. Black levels are consistent, there are only a few examples of artifacting to mention - this isn't a mind-blowing standard-def release, but it's nevertheless a nice one.

Audio: How Does The Disc Sound?

These Dolby Digital 2.0 sound mixes are also completely capable affairs. Dialogue sounds all right indoors, but exterior sequences a have hit-and-miss quality to them. Music sounds fine, too. There isn't anything particularly awe-inspiring about Midsomer Murders' sound design, but it's presented on this DVD set accurately, at least.

English SDH subtitles are included.
