Video: How Do The Discs Look?
The 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers here are totally acceptable (as they were on earlier TV-on-DVD editions of the show), but they're still not reference-quality - even for standard-def. The main reason they aren’t air-tight is the occasional appearance of heavy grain, especially in darker sequences. Most of the finely grained detail is nice and crisp, and black levels are thorough and deep. I’d call these worthy, if not totally impressive presentations.

The Fifth Season's Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks also follow in the footsteps of their predecessors in that they are a bit underwhelming - they come across as marginally-improved stereo mixes. Dialogue has been recorded and presented clearly and cleanly, but things stay centered far more than it seems they should. The only time surrounds get a true workout is with loud music stingers; atmospherics are kept at a minimum.
Included are English Dolby Digital 2.0 and Spanish Dolby Digital 1.0 mixes, as well as English and Spanish subtitles.
