Video: How Do the Discs Look?
These 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers are appropriate, though not revelatory. The imagery itself is often breathtaking, but compression artifacting and aliasing are frequent offenders here - it's not enough to detract from the series' travelogue feel, but it's not optimal. Again, though - the sights here are enough to make you want to get your travel agent on the phone....

Audio: How Do the Discs Sound?
The Dolby Digital sound mixes here are straightforward affairs all the way. Caroline Quentin's narration is always clear and discernible, and production audio is solid, as well, with on-the-scene interview footage sounding authentic and clean. For a travel series like this, it's hard to imagine these tracks working much better than they do.
English SDH subtitles are included.
