Video: How Does the Disc Look?
The Return gets a fine anamorphic widescreen presentation here. There isn't a rampant display of perfect imagery to mention, but detail quality is strong across the board, color accuracy is spot-on (for the most part), and while black levels aren't potently inky, they're nevertheless consistent. There are examples of compression artifacting and aliasing to mention, but they're never intense enough to fully distract.
Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?
This Dolby Digital track is also capable, if not exactly mind-blowing. Dialogue is always audible, the movie's musical score has a nice, lush feel to it, and atmospherics and effects come through with appropriate intensity. Again, nothing to write home about, but there's no denying The Return sounds fine here.
