Our 49ers are currently screwing the pooch, the Raiders are a wild card, Cal's football season was a nightmare - thank God we were able to clutch a World Series victory during an otherwise deflating sports season. Yes, for this Giants fan and millions of others, the 2010 World Series matchup wasn't just a sensational victory - it was an unbelievable achievement (really - it took a while for most of us to believe it actually happened!).
There was scuttlebutt that the Phillies were going to outsmart everybody and that the Yankees were going to make it two in a row, but at the end of the day, the Giants sparred off with the Texas Rangers and beat the pants off of 'em 4-1. The only downside to the Series is that our boys weren't playing in San Francisco when that final pitch (ah, that pitch....) was thrown.

And it looks as though DVD studios are looking to milk as much money out of Giants fans' pockets as they can this holiday season - this 2010 World Series DVD box set was one of two Giants-related releases to arrive at our office this week (so far).
Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining (I watched Brian Wilson's final pitch about a million times on YouTube after it happened; it's much better watching if on a big screen thanks to this set) - but as the first World Series release of the season, other than a shooting-fish-in-a-barrel ability to please fans, this one's a little uneven.
Let's watch that final pitch one last time, then take a look....
