Video: How Does the Disc Look?

The 2.35:1 1080p transfer included on this Blu-ray edition is just fine. If you keep an eye out for aliasing and banding, you’ll find them, but for the most part, this presentation showcases deeply vivid color accuracy, detail quality that is strikingly sharp, and black levels that start inky and stay that way throughout. Compression artifacting is also kept at bay, which is always refreshing.

Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?

The DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track on this disc is overly aggressive, but not distractingly so. Music cues come in way loud – keep that volume remote nearby – but atmospherics enter surround channels with excellent results, and fidelity as a whole is wonderfully dynamic. High- and low-ends are represented nicely, too. This is no reference-quality affair, but it certainly captures the film well.

English DTS 2.0 and French and Spanish DTS 5.1 tracks are included, as are English SDH, French, and Spanish subtitles.
