Video: How Does the Disc Look?
The look of the BSG universe has always been a bit herky-jerky, but even taking that into consideration, this 1.78:1 1080p transfer should be better than it is. Detail quality is pretty strong throughout, and black levels start sturdy and stay that way, but color accuracy isn’t particularly consistent, and there are serious examples of aliasing and banding to mention. Again, this off-shoot isn’t necessarily supposed to look pristine, but there are nevertheless more than a few technical hiccups to mention here.

Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?
The DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix on this BD is significantly more impressive than its video discmate. Dialogue is always audible, and the overall soundscape at work in Blood and Chrome is wildly immersive – between the show’s swooning musical score and feverish atmospherics, this is the kind of track sci-fi geeks simply succumb to. There are maybe a handful of moments where you’ll feel the urge to reach for your volume remote, but most of the time, this one’s a solid lossless presentation.
English SDH, French, and Spanish subtitles are also included.
