Video: How Does the Disc Look?

This is a title one wishes Criterion would get their hands on - they would have really given the classic film a once-over. As it stand on this 1.66:1 1080p transfer, That Obscure Object of Desire looks strong, but not magnificent in high-def. Detail is relatively sharp, and color accuracy seems authentic and consistent, but black levels aren't thoroughly inky, and grain handling is uneven, with  sequences not coming across with the glow they should. Good, not great.

Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?

We get both English and French DTS-HD 2.0 Master Audio sound mixes, and they're both totally great. Each captures the movie's mono sound design accurately and cleanly, with dialogue coming through audibly. Music sounds nice, to boot. No major complaints.

English and French subtitles are included.
