Video: How Do the Discs Look?

It's nice to see these episodes available in high-def, I suppose, but it's clear very early on here that these 1.33:1 1080p transfers haven't received the TLC they need. Color accuracy is nicely represented, and black levels stay steady throughout, but detail quality is all over the place, with some scenes really popping nicely and others finding themselves mired in smear. The transfer prints utilized also aren't in fantastic shape - there are elements of dirt and grime everywhere here.

Audio: How Do the Discs Sound?

Man, things are lossy here, and that's a drag. These Dolby Digital 2.0 tracks are fine, I guess, but come on: why resist a high-def audio presence for the inimitable Jacksons? Every element of these sound mixes are fine, but that's the ceiling - we could have had some majorly impressive material here, but this set comes up short.
