Video: How Does the Disc Look?

This 2.40:1 1080p transfer is pitch-perfect in every way. I kept looking for hiccups in the form of compression artifacts or banding, but nothing arrived: this is a fantastically solid presentation. Colors are vivid and excellently well-balanced, black levels are sturdy from top to bottom, and detail is often impossibly sharp, with CGI textures appearing natural and reliably free of imperfections. A home theater enthusiast's dream.

Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?

This lossless DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio sound mix doesn't have the same kind of elegance its video transfer manifests, but there's no denying that it's an often impressive achievement. Dialogue is always audible, and while some of the movie's more rambunctious and adventurous sequences get a little loud for their own good, when Continental Drift is at its calmest (and most effective), atmospherics, music, and effects all combine nicely on this mix. It's not perfect, but it'll do just fine.

Spanish and French Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks are included, as are English SDH and Spanish subtitles.
