Video: How Does the Disc Look?
Technically, Tai Chi Zero is a killer Blu-ray Disc. The 2.35:1 1080p transfer here showcases sleek and well-defined color accuracy, detail quality that is sharp and firm across the board, and black levels that are impressively inky from start to finish. Compression artifacting pops up every now and again, but when it does, it's not entirely distracting. This isn't a perfect transfer, but it's a damned good one.

Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?
We get both Mandarin and English DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mixes, and both do their jobs nobly. The surround sound design of this track is aggressive and unafraid of being provocative, so we get looming atmospherics and swirling effects that serve the movie wonderfully well. All in all, a fun, often outrageous pair of lossless mixes.
Mandarin and English Dolby Digital 2.0 tracks are included, as are English subtitles.
