Video: How Does the Disc Look?

HBO is usually a gold standard in terms of video quality, so the fact that Game Change only looks moderately strong on this 1.78:1 1080p transfer is kind of a disappointment. It's designed as an off-the-cuff docu-drama, so the herky-jerky camerawork in it is implicitly authentic, but detail is never quite as sharp as it feels it should be, and color accuracy wavers a bit from sequence to sequence. There are very few instances of aliasing and compression artfiacting, though, so I guess it has that going for it.

Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?

The DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix here is simple yet well-managed, presenting Game Change's audio nobly. Dialogue is always audible, and during the movie's convention sequences, surrounds bubble to life with excellent effect. There isn't a whole lot going on here, but for what it is, this lossless track is perfectly appropriate.

French DTS 5.1 and Spanish DTS 2.0 tracks are included, as are English SDH, French, Spanish subtitles.
