Video: How Does the Disc Look?

The movie is presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.19:1 on this 1080p transfer, and the results are solid, if not rampantly impressive. The transfer print is saddled with dirt and grime - this is unfortunately not all that surprising - but black levels are steady throughout, and contrast is handled well. Grain also has a firm presence on this presentation, lending the movie a thick glow. Not a perfect video transfer, but a good one, for sure.

Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?

The LPCM German mono mix included here also sounds its age, but without a ground-floor restoration, it's not going to sound a heck of a lot better than this. As an early talkie, much of the dialogue here is stilted, but it's represented appropriately. Music also has a nice feel to it that the lossless capacity of this track enhances. Not bad.

English SDH subtitles are included.
