Video: How Does The Disc Look?

The 1.85:1 1080p transfer on Topaz's Blu-ray debut is good, not great. Detail is especially uneven, with some sequences popping with a wonderful clarity and others staggered with smear. Color accuracy is a bit more reliable, with flesh tones balancing nicely with the movie's bold, saturated hues. The transfer print utilized here is also pretty darned strong, with elements of dirt and grime kept to a (thankful) minimum. Definitely not The Masterpiece Collection's greatest hour, but a worthy high-def presentation, nonetheless.

Audio: How Does The Disc Sound?

The DTS-HD 1.0 Master Audio sound mix on Topaz's Blu-ray Disc, like most of the tracks on The Masterpiece Collection, is totally appropriate. Dialogue is audible throughout, effects seem appropriately represented, and music comes across with a lovely - if limited - presence. No major complaints.

English SDH, French, and Spanish subtitles.
