Video: How Does the Disc Look?
This is another part of The Amazing Spider-Man's innate enjoyability: the 2.40:1 1080p transfer on this Blu-ray Disc is quite frankly reference-grade. Blending CGI elements with wonderfully-photographed live-action material, this presentation is everything a home theater enthusiast would want - and more. Detail quality is sensationally vivid, with textures near and far appearing authentic and completely present. Color accuracy is also spot-on, with the movie's palette coming across with balanced, crisp punch. Black levels are steady throughout, to boot, and compression artifacting and banding are nowhere to be found. Exceptional.
Audio: How Does the Disc Sound?
The DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix here is just as golden as its video discmate. Enveloping and savvy in every way, this lossless track is absolutely irresistible. Dialogue is audible and well-recorded - even during busy action sequences, it's handled stunningly - and atmospherics and effects appear cleanly. The movie's musical score has a whirling presence to it, and surrounds are constantly at work. High- and low-ends are replicated perfectly, also (prepare to watch your .1 LFE channel come to life). A+.
