HDTVs, Streaming Video Boxes and 3D BD Players...oh my!

Halloween has turned to Thanksgiving, and while the rest of the world recognizes that this signals the beginning of something called 'the holiday season', for cine-dorks and tech nerds (like us), it also means something far more important: The time for end-of-the-year roundup lists. DVDFile got a great response in 2009 when we had our staff offer varied and often controversial takes on the best and worst of the year, and we're amping up our game in 2010.
Starting this week, with a look at this year's standout gadgetry and Blu-ray developments, DVDFile will be bringing you a definitive look at high-definition discs highs and lows in the last twelve months. And while we're waiting for review copies of Q4's more notable titles to arrive at our office, we'll start with an assessment of 2010 techie goodness. We look at new 2D Blu-ray Disc players, we assess the slate of new streaming-option players, and - of course - we take a deep breath and analyze the shape of 3D Blu-ray as we careen into a post-Avatar 2011.
Plug in your HDMI cables, make sure your receiver is set to lossless playback, and join us....
First: Only two dimensions of playback? Eh, we'll still give it a look....
