UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., June 8, 2001 -- On September
18, 2001, Universal Studios Home Video will unlock its vault to unleash
an unparalleled selection of heart-pounding entertainment with a comprehensive
slate of Universal thrillers. Leading the slate is the first time DVD
release of An American Werewolf in London Collector's Edition, coinciding
with the 20th anniversary of the landmark John Landis directed
horror/comedy film and available for $26.98 suggested retail. Additional
new to DVD titles include the Play Misty for Me Collector's Edition
($24.98 SRP), marking the 30th anniversary
of Clint Eastwood's directorial debut; the classic Cape Fear
(1962) starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum for $24.98 SRP; Cape
Fear (1991), the critically-acclaimed remake directed by Martin
Scorsese and starring Nick Nolte and Robert DeNiro for $26.98 SRP; the
Coen Brothers' celebrated Blood Simple for $24.98 SRP; and
the scarifying Halloween II for $24.98 SRP. Pre-order close

David Naughton and Griffin Dunne star in the An
American Werewolf in London Collector's Edition as two American
tourists traveling in England who are attacked by a werewolf that the
locals will not admit that exists. In commemoration of the
film's 20th anniversary, Universal Studios Home Video and MSN
will host a live chat with David Naughton and Griffin Dune scheduled to
participate. Additionally, a limited theatrical re-release of this influential
film is tentatively slated for the fall. The DVD release,
available for the first time, features several exclusive added values
including digitally remastered sound; exclusive interview with two-time
Academy Award winning make-up artist Rick Baker and critically acclaimed
director John Landis; an original featurette, storyboards to final scene
comparison, a theatrical trailer, production notes, cast and filmmaker
bios, and DVD-Rom features. The 20th Anniversary VHS version
of An American Werewolf in London will also include digitally
re-mastered sound.

The classic Cape Fear, originally released
in 1962, stars Robert Mitchum as Max Cady, the sadistic ex-con, determined
to wreak bloody revenge on Sam Bowden, the small town lawyer playbed by
Gregory Peck, who sent him to jail years earlier. Now that Cady has been
released, he begins to terrorize Bowden and his family, particularly targeting
Bowden's vulnerable daughter, Nancy, played by Shelley Fabares, and wife,
portrayed by Polly Bergen.
The Cape Fear (1962) DVD will feature an
exclusive original documentary with all new interviews, a photograph &
poster gallery with the original score by Bernard Herrmann, a theatrical

Robert De Niro stars in master filmmaker Martin Scorsese's
