Los Angeles, Ca. (6/11/01) -- "Gandhi,"
acclaimed as one of the epic film masterpieces of all time and directed
by legendary director Richard Attenborough, will be released on DVD on
August 28, 2001 by Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.
"Gandhi" garnered an amazing eight Academy Awards
including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Art Direction-Set
Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing and
Best Screenplay. The film was also nominated for three additional Academy
Awards including Best Make-Up, Best Music and Best Sound. The outstanding
cast also includes Candice Bergen, Sir John Gielgud, Trevor Howard, Martin
Sheen, Edward Fox and John Mills.
