New York, NY July XX, 2002 -- On June 6, 1944 an elite
rifle company parachuted into France and made world history on
what would become known as D-Day. They fought in the Battle of
the Bulge, captured Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden
and became true American heroes over the course of their service
in WWII. Now, the story of this elite Army unit, told through
a ten-part epic that has been called, "the best miniseries
in the history of television" (Chicago Sun Times) and "extraordinary,
forceful and stunning,"(New York Times) will become a part
of home video history. On November 5, the highly acclaimed and
eagerly anticipated miniseries, BAND OF BROTHERS, executive produced
by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, will be available for purchase
on VHS and DVD in retail outlets nationwide.

Based on Stephen E. Ambrose's nonfiction bestseller, BAND
OF BROTHERS tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of
the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Starting with their rigorous
training in Georgia in 1942, it recounts the achievements of the
elite rifle company from D-Day to the fall of Nazi Germany and
the surrender of Japan. Drawn from hours of interviews with survivors,
as well as soldiers' journals and letters, BAND OF BROTHERS
chronicles a unit that took 150 percent casualties and whose lives
became legend.

"We Stand Alone Together: The Men of Easy Company."
This 1 hour and 20 minute documentary tells the remarkable story
of the men of Easy Company in their own words. Featuring recent
interviews with the real-life company members whose deeds are
dramatized in the miniseries, combined with rare and archival
photographs and film footage, the poignant documentary demonstrates
the true lives of the men portrayed in BAND OF BROTHERS.
Additional bonus materials that are exclusive to the BAND OF
BROTHERS DVD set include a 30 minute feature showcasing "The
Making of Band of Brothers," Ron Livingston's "Video
Diaries" featuring the experience of making the miniseries
through the eyes of one actor, a featurette of HBO's premiere
screening of the miniseries on the beaches of Normandy and an
optional, enhanced viewing "Field Guide."
The "Field Guide" is an extensive reference feature,
which details the people, places and events associated with Easy
Company's campaigns through Europe and WWII as a whole. Access
to the guide is context sensitive, so the viewer always gets information
specific to the current episode being viewed, first. From this
access point, the viewer may continue to browse the entire collection

DVD content also includes 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio from high

Marketing and Advertising
BAND OF BROTHERS on HBO Video is backed by an extensive national
advertising campaign promoting the November 5 release. The campaign
includes post street date advertising on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, TBS,
TNT, E!, ESPN, FOX SPORTS, A&E, The History Channel, TMC,
and CNN. Print advertising will include layouts in Esquire, GQ,
Entertainment Weekly, Vanity Fair, Time, Fortune, National Geographic,
the Military Times, USA Today, The New York Times, The Los Angeles
Times and much more. HBO Video will also advertise BAND OF BROTHERS
in the top 40 radio markets nationwide.
Program Information
BAND OF BROTHERS is produced by Band Of Brothers Ltd. in association
with DreamWorks and Playtone; Tom Hanks (executive producer of
the Emmy®-winning HBO miniseries "From the Earth to the
Moon") and Steven Spielberg serve as executive producers.
The majority of the production facilities for BAND OF BROTHERS
are based at the former Hatfield Aerodrome, near London, which
also served as the location base for Spielberg's production
of "Saving Private Ryan."
The directors of the miniseries are Tom Hanks ("That Thing
You Do!"), David Frankel ("Miami Rhapsody"), David
Leland ("Wish You Were Here"), Richard Loncraine ("Richard
III," starring Ian McKellen and HBO's "The Gathering
Storm"), David Nutter ("Disturbing Behavior"),
Phil Alden Robinson ("Field of Dreams"), Mikael Salomon
("Hard Rain") and Tony To (HBO's "From the
Earth to the Moon").
Tony To (co-executive producer of "From the Earth to the
Moon") and Gary Goetzman of The Playtone Company are co-executive
producers of BAND OF BROTHERS. Mary Richards ("Elizabeth")
is the UK producer. Erik Bork is supervising producer; Erik Jendresen
is consulting producer. Anne Thomopoulos, senior vice president,
HBO Original Programming, west coast, and Carmi Zlotnik, senior
vice president, HBO production and creative operations, are the
HBO representatives overseeing the project.
