DF: When you produced the original "Lynne Hale web documentaries" also included on the DVD, you weren't thinking of the format at the time, correct? But now that you're releasing the first Star Wars film on DVD, are you know planning to think in terms of the format during production of Episodes II and III?

JW: Sure, absolutely. That always affects your thinking. But I will tell you that what comes first and foremost in George's mind is the film itself. That's really what happens. And if there are any byproducts of that, or along the way there are any things we produced that we think might be cool, then yes, absolutely.

But even when we were doing things like the Lynne Hale web documentaries, clearly they were intended for the web, but we always knew that someday, if DVD really took off, we could always include them on the DVD...

DF: And they have been shot in widescreen, which I was excited to see!

JW: Yes, absolutely!

DF: Needless to say, even in just the few hours since the announcement this morning, we've received email lamenting the lack of a DTS track on the DVD. Is it correct there won't be one on there?

JW: That is correct. That was a tough call. When you go about configuring and compiling a DVD, especially a two-disc set, there is a lot of content issues and bandwidth issues that we have to take into account. So we had to make some tough choices in order to accommodate all of the desires of everyone involved in terms of the content included on the disc. And (not including a DTS track) was just one of those decisions we had to make.

DF: Do you have any plans to release a separate DTS version?

JW: There are no plans at this time, no.

DF: Another big issue with fans is if there are any plans to create yet another "Ultimate Edition" of Phantom Menace. There's been lots of rumors and such that Mr. Lucas is going to do some mega-set once all six films are finished...

JW: I can't say what our plans our long term at this point in time. Clearly, at some point when all six films are in their finished form, I'm sure we may release some kind of a “Six Set Box” or something like that. But believe me, we're not that far yet. We have two more films to release theatrically, and all that is what we are focusing on next.

DF: With The Phantom Menace, fans had to wait quite a wile after the VHS release for this DVD. Now that Lucasfilm has begun to support the DVD format with this first Star Wars release, is Lucasfilm aiming to go day & date with Episode II and Episode III?

JW: No. We have made no decisions on that at this point in time. A lot of factors will come into play and we'll get there, but we haven't made any decisions that far ahead.

DF: Alright, I have to ask. When oh when can we expect Episodes IV, V, VI?

JW: No, no, that is a fair question! But, no, at this time there are no plans for the foreseeable future for the original trilogy. We're just trying to start off with the first episode in the saga and get that out on DVD, and just see where we go from here.

DF: Okay, since we have to go, here is my last question. Can you release the Indiana Jones trilogy on DVD? Please!?

JW: (laughs) That is an entirely different ball game. No decisions have been made on that front despite any rumors. Though of course we are aware of the popularity of that franchise as well!
