A sleeper hit in the summer of 1989, Rob Reiner's When Harry Met Sally helped revitalized the then-moribund romantic comedy genre, a type of film most thought at the time that "they just don't make like they used to." When Harry Met Sally brought back the "date movie" for modern audiences, made both Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan to superstardom, and helped solidify Rob Reiner as one of the most prominent American directors working today.

On January 9, 2001, MGM will finally release When Harry Met Sally in a long-awaited DVD special edition. To celebrate the occasion, Laura Gross recently chatted with Reiner to look back at the impact the film had on audiences and himself as a filmmaker, the DVD format and nature of love and relationships...
