We now have final specs and cover art for Buena Vista's 27 April Blu-ray Disc release of Tombstone. This Kurt Russell western will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, some featurettes, TV spots and a set of trailers. SRP is $29.99.

Final specs have also been announced for Universal's 13 April Blu-ray Disc release of Pirate Radio. This Philip Seymour Hoffman comedy will arrive with 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, a commentary track, some deleted scenes, BD-Live capability and some BD-exclusive featurettes. SRP is TBD. 

Timeless Media Group is readying a 25 May DVD release of The Virginian: The Complete First Season. This James Drury western drama will arrive with 1.33:1 transfers and mono sound mixes, though no bonuses will be included. SRP is $79.98.

During a News Corporation press release yesterday, Fox bigwig Rupert Murdoch said that Fox is readying an Avatar Blu-ray release before 1 July. Again, this will be a 2D version of the picture (3D will come later on), but it's yet another dangling carrot for the film on BD....
