Paramount has announced a 20 October DVD release date for Vega$: The First Season, Vol. 1. This heavily-requested TV adventure/drama's first season (well, its first eleven episodes) will arrive with 1.33:1 transfers and mono sound mixes, though no bonuses have yet been slated to be included. SRP is TBD.

20 October will also bring the Blu-ray Disc release of Land of the Lost from Universal. This Will Ferrell remake of the cult-beloved series will arrive with a 1080p transfer, though bonus features and audio specs have yet to be formally announced. SRP is $39.98.

20 October - a popular announcement date today - will also usher in the Blu-ray Disc release of Night of the Creeps: Director's Cut from Sony. This slasher/horror flick will arrive with a 1080p transfer and a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix, as well as two commentaries, a trvia track, and a loaded set of featurettes. SRP is TBD.

Lionsgate will release Homeboy on 1 September. This acclaimed Mickey Rourke/Christopher Walken drama will arrive with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and a stereo sound mix. No bonuses will be included. SRP is $14.98.

Lionsgate will also release a special edition of Mad Monster Party on 8 September. This Boris Karloff-voiced cult classic will arrive with a 1.33:1 transfer and a mono sound mix, and will include a featurette, two bonus sing-alongs and the film's trailer. SRP is $14.98.
