The latest Ice Age gets full high-def specs, and Warner has a super-early announcement for The Hobbit: Extended Edition on BD for next Christmas....

Fox has announced an 11 December Blu-ray release for Ice Age: Continental Drift. This new hit animated flick will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, a Party With a Pirate! interactive mode, some featurettes, deleted scenes, a jukebox feature, a sing-along mode, and a set of trailers. SRP is $39.99.

 

 

 

 

 

 

HBO will release Game Change on Blu-ray on 8 January. This Emmy-winning political drama will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, and two extensive featurettes. SRP is $24.99.

 

 

Sony is readying an 11 December Blu-ray release of Les Miserables. This 1998 Bille August edition of Victor Hugo's epic novel will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, and an unconfirmed set of bonuses. SRP is $19.98.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I guess it's good to plan ahead: Warner has announced that in Q4 2013, they'll release The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: Extended Edition. Since the movie itself doesn't come out for two months, we have little more info than this - just rest assured that we'll all be double- and triple-dipping for Peter Jackson's latest Tolkien tale next year...
