Criterion's August Lineup Revealed

Criterion will drop The Battle of Algiers on Blu-ray on 9 August. This Gillo Pontecorvo classic will arrive with a 1080p transfer, an LPCM sound mix, two documentaries, a set of featurettes, a stills gallery and some trailers. SRP is $49.95.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

16 August will bring the Criterion Blu-ray release of Cul-de-Sac. This quirky flick from Roman Polanski will arrive with a 1080p transfer, an LPCM sound mix, a documentary a featurette and a set of trailers. SRP is $39.95.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

16 August will also bring the release of The Killing from Criterion. This Stanley Kubrick masterwork will arrive with a 1080p transfer, an LPCM sound mix, the full film of Killer's Kiss, a set of interviews and featurettes and the film's trailers. SRP is $39.95.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Secret Sunshine is hitting Criterion Blu-ray on 23 August. This Lee Chang-dong South Korean melodrama will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD Master Audio sound mix, some featurettes and a set of trailers. SRP is $39.95.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eclipse Series 28: The Warped World of Koreyoshi Kurahara will be released on Criterion DVD on 23 August, as well. This zany set of films - Intimidation (1960), The Warped Ones (1960), I Hate But Love (1962), Black Sun (1964), and Thirst for Love (1967) - will arrive with anamorphic widescreen transfers and mono sound mixes. Criterion will also release The Complete Jean Vigo on Blu-ray on 30 August. This set of three films - A propos de Nice (1930), Zero de conduite (1933) and L'atalante (1934) - will arrive with 1080p transfers, LPCM sound mixes, a set of commentary tracks, some unused footage, and a huge slate of featurettes. SRP is $39.95.
