It's only a rumor at this point, but there's hubbub that Buena Vista will announce the Blu-ray Disc release of Alias: The Complete First Season in time for the set to hit shelves before the end of the year. Again, we know nothing about the exact validity of this new info, but we'll let you know as more details come our way. 

Warner is readying a 20 October Blu-ray Disc release of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. This original Gene Wilder family classic will arrive with a 1080p transfer and a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix, though bonus features have yet to be confirmed. SRP is $34.99.

1 September will also bring the Blu-ray Disc release of Gladiator: Sapphire Series from Paramount. This Russell Crowe actioner will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, two commentaries, a set of featurettes and some stills galleries. SRP is $39.99.

Paramount is also readying a Forrest Gump: Sapphire Series Blu-ray Disc release, but not until 3 November. The Oscar winner will definitely be presented in 1080p high definition, but we have no word on audio specs or bonuses quite yet. Stay tuned... SRP is $39.99.
