We know that Kevin Smith's Chasing Amy is headed to Blu-ray Disc in November, but the intriguing thing about this news is that this release just might be a Criterion one. The company has stated in the past that they're in the process of upgrading their earlier DVD edition of the film, but it's hard to say what the official word will be. UMVD is readying a 27 October Blu-ray Disc release of Monty Python: Almost the Truth. This documentary on the legendary comedy troupe will arrive with a 1080p transfer, though audio specs and bonuses are still TBD. SRP is $39.99.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And here's the big news: Paramount is officially readying a 17 November Blu-ray Disc release of Star Trek. This franchise-reboot from J.J. Abrams will arrive on BD with a 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix, and a boat-load of extras. From the press release:
