More details have been announced for Paramount's 3 November Blu-ray Disc edition of Forrest Gump. This Tom Hanks Oscar-winner will arrive with a 2.35:1 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, two commentaries (one with director Robert Zemeckis, Steve Starkey and Rick Carter; the other with Wendy Finerman), a set of featurettes, and an introduction from Ben Fong- Torres. SRP is $39.99.
Sony's BD release of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein has been pushed - instead of coming out on 13 October, it'll hit shelves on 6 October. No word has been given as to why the switcheroo is taking place, but the film's specs (1080p transfer, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix) remain intact. Bonuses are still TBD. SRP remains $24.95.
Sony's Year One will be available on Blu-ray Disc on 6 October, and we have final specs. This Jack Black/Michael Cera comedy will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix, a commentary with Cera, Black and director Harold Ramis, deleted scenes, a blooper reel, a ton of featurettes, as well as some BD-exclusive goodies: A BD-Live Year One Cutting Room feature, the ability for Cinechat, and a Movie I.Q. in-movie trivia track.
