Fox has again announced final specs for its 1 September Blu-ray Disc release of M*A*S*H (this new edition has been postponed before). The classic Robert Altman comedy will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, an Altman commentary, the film's trailer, and a set of featurettes. SRP is $34.99.
Final details have also been confirmed by Sony for their 18 August Blu-ray Disc release of Tyson. This documentary on the boxer will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix, a commentary from director James Toback, and two featurettes. SRP is $39.95.
Universal is readying a 25 August DVD release of House: Season Five. This latest season of the hit Hugh Laurie show will arrive with 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers, Dolby Digital 5.1 sound mixes, a set of audio commentaries, and a set of featurettes. SRP is $59.98.
Universal is also putting together a 1 September Blu-ray Disc release of State of Play. This Russell Crowe/Ben Affleck thriller will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, as well as a featurette and some deleted scenes. SRP is $39.98.
22 September will bring The Paul Newman Tribute Collection to DVD from Fox/MGM. This collection of DVD editions of seventeen of the actor's best roles - The Long, Hot Summer, Rally ‘Round the Flag, Boys, From the Terrace, Exodus, The Hustler Collector’s Edition, Hemingway’s Adventures of a Young Man, What a Way to Go!, Hombre, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Collector’s Edition, The Towering Inferno Special Edition, Buffalo Bill and the Indians Or Sitting Bull’s History Lesson, Quintet, and The Verdict Collector’s Edition - will arrive with a soft-cover book about the actor, as well as all the bonuses afforded each film's individual release.
