Criterion has announced plans to release Playtime on Blu-ray Disc on 18 August. This marvelous Jacques Tati masterwork will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a PCM Stereo sound mix, an introduction from Terry Jones, a select-scene commentary from Philip Kemp, a huge set of featurettes, as well as an alternate international dub of the film. 18 August will also bring the Criterion Blu-ray Disc release of Kagemusha.
