28 July will bring the Blu-ray Disc release of A River Runs Through It. This acclaimed drama starring Brad Pitt and Craig Sheffer will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix, some deleted scenes, three featurettes and a BD-exclusive set of looping screen savers. Criterion has announced plans to release Playtime on Blu-ray Disc on 18 August. This marvelous Jacques Tati masterwork will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a PCM Stereo sound mix, an introduction from Terry Jones, a select-scene commentary from Philip Kemp, a huge set of featurettes, as well as an alternate international dub of the film. SRP is $39.99.
More details have been announced for Summit Entertainment's 7 July Blu-ray Disc release of Knowing. This hit Nicolas Cage actioner will arrive with a 2.35:1 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, a director's commentary, and a pair of featurettes. SRP is $34.99.
18 August will also bring the Criterion Blu-ray Disc release of Kagemusha. This wondrous Akira Kurosawa epic will arrive with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD Master Audio sound mix, a commentary by scholar Stephen Prince, a set of featurettes, some of Kurosawa's Suntory Whiskey commercials, a stills gallery and some trailers. SRP is $39.99.
