HBO will release Rome: The Complete Series on Blu-ray Disc on 17 November. This 10-BD collection of the entire acclaimed series will arrive with 1.78:1 1080p transfers, DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mixes, a commentary, a making-of featurette and a stills gallery. SRP is $139.99.

Warner will release Trick r Treat on Blu-ray Disc on 6 October. This horror flick will arrive with a 1080p transfer and a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix, though bonuses have yet to be formally announced. SRP is also TBD.

27 October will bring the Warner Blu-ray Disc release of Orphan. This creepy current hit will arrive with a 1080p transfer and a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix, as well as a set of bonus goodies that haven't been confirmed. SRP is also TBD. 

Universal will release Battlestar Galactica: The Plan on Blu-ray Disc on 27 October. This new installment in the BG series will arrive with a 1.78:1 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, some deleted scenes, a commentary with star (and director) Edward James Olmos, a set of featurettes, and some BD-Live goodies. SRP is $39.98.

Warner has announced a moratorium on a few of its high-profile DVD titles in preparation for their eventual Blu-ray Disc releases. Caddyshack, The Exorcist and Doctor Zhivago will go on moratorium starting on 4 September. Formal announcements for these films' BD editions will be coming soon....
