My father used to watch wresting and I watched the film with him. I feel ashamed for the so-called Americans who made, played in and voted for this film ever. The storyline isn't too bad but the racist part (well Persians are not really a different race)... I mean the stereotype part against Iranians and Iran put me off totally. In the US I have many Iranian American friends. They're mostly educated, good-looking and have nothing to do with the stupid Iranian government that came to power 30 years ago. Giving an Iranian wrestler the name "Ayatollah" is an insult to the real identity of Persians/Iranians. First that ignorant film "300" and now this? It's not ok to bash women, blacks and Jews, but it's ok to bash Iranians? By the way Iranians are not Arabs. They have their own language and culture and they are a different race (nothing against Arabs, I'm just informing). I'm disappointed in Marisa Tomei for supporting this cheap film.
